Nick Kleeman

Psychologist

Nick (he/him) is a Clinical Psychology Registrar with a genuine compassion towards each individual’s unique mental health experience. Nick has a warm and approachable therapeutic style. He views the development of a collaborative, trusting, and non-judgemental therapeutic relationship as a central container for supporting each individual’s unique healing journey.

Prior to training as a psychologist, Nick worked extensively with adolescents in the schooling system, specifically he facilitated conversations with adolescents aiming to reduce the stigma associated with mental ill health with the youth mental health organisation batyr. Additionally, he has spent 2-years in the Organisational Psychology Space facilitating workplace wellbeing workshops.

Outside of Make Lemonade, Nick runs a surf therapy program at the Urbnsurf wavepool in Tullamarine and spends his downtime in nature, surfing, running, and spending quality time with family and friends.

Nick has worked with adults and adolescents experiencing a range of mental health difficulties including depression, anxiety, grief, health related adjustment, and relational issues. Nick provides a safe and inclusive therapy space for people of all backgrounds and has experiencing working with people from LGBTIQ+ and CALD communities. He has an empathetic and strengths-based approach and has particular interest working with individuals with ADHD.

Nick works primarily from an ACT based approach with a strong background in mindfulness based practices. He also engages in parts work therapy, solution focused therapy, and compassion focused therapy.
