Emily Matenson

Clinical Psychologist

Emily (she/her) is a clinical psychologist with experience working with young people and adults. Emily works to provide a warm, authentic, and compassionate space for clients to explore challenges in their lives, develop greater self-understanding, and move towards lives aligned with their values. She places emphasis on building a therapeutic relationship that is supportive and safe. Outside of work, Emily enjoys horse riding and is slowly working her way through Melbourne’s brunch scene (recommendations welcome!)

Emily has previously worked with young people and adults in a range of public, private, and higher educational settings. Her approach is trauma-informed, warm, and collaborative. Emily works with her clients to develop a personalised treatment approach, and in doing so draws on a range of evidence-based therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Schema Therapy (ST), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR).

Emily’s fee is $265 per 50-minute session. After hour appointments incur an additional $40 fee.
